St.
Francis de Sales Youth Bring Easter Blessings to
Terrace Gardens
Over thirty 8th graders from the St. Francis de Sales
Parish School of Religion visited Terrace Gardens the
morning of Sunday April 2. Along with Lori Mazzone,
Director of Religious Education and several other
parents and chaperones, the students came to visit and
brought some very generous gifts for many of the
residents. The students were completing a service
project as a part of their Confirmation preparation.
Terrace Gardens was fortunate enough to have been
selected by the students as the recipient of their
generosity.
The children brought with them a spring flower in a
clay pot they painted in spring colors. They also
brought a large bag of groceries for each resident.
The grocery bags were full of nutritional items that
are tremendously helpful to the residents. Terrace
Gardens and its residents send well wishes to all of
these youngsters as they continue in their preparation
for Confirmation and are very thankful for their act
of kindness!
Tillie's
Birthday Dinners are a Terrace Gardens Tradition!
Each month, Tillie Swonger, long-time Terrace Gardens
resident holds a "Birthday Dinner" for all
Terrace Gardens residents and their guests in the
Community Room in order to celebrate all of the
birthdays occurring that month. Tillie works very hard
to offer this wonderful evening of fine food and
fellowship so that residents can be sure to have a happy
birthday! All guests bring their favorite dish or
dessert, and as with all potlucks, the food is of a wide
variety and tasty to eat. You can be sure, no one ever
goes away hungry from one of Tillie's Birthday Dinners.
Not only do you get your fill of great food, Tillie is
always sure to have entertainment lined up and that can
join in on! In February it was karaoke night and many of
the residents got up and sang their favorite hymnal or
traditional tunes! We hope you consider attending the
next one and bringing your favorite recipe for all to
share. The Birthday dinners are normally the third
Saturday of each month beginning at 5:00 pm sharp! Below
are some pictures of the fun in February…………

"Read with Me" Program
Nearly
a dozen Fifth Grade students from Central Intermediate
School, located across the the street from Terrace
Gardens, came to visit on Monday January 30th. The
"Read with Me" program is a part of a school
project to give the children an opportunity to read to
senior citizens. Some very interesting and amusing
stories were read by the young folks from Central
Intermediate. All of the residents have a great time and
enjoyed their time with the children.
